It seems to have one main root with many different stalks that grow upward like a tree, turns brown in direct sun light and needles fall off, branches that grow out from main stalk at a 90 degree angle, similar to a hemlock, the needles are soft and hair like approximately 1/4 inch long in little clusters that resemble stars all over the branch and is completely flat, will wrap around itself similar to an ivy, stalk is somewhat prickly currently is 4 feet tall. color is bright green any information on the care of this plant would be helpful as well. To me it sounds as if it is in the Asparagus Fern family, %26amp; is called a Coarse Asparagus Fern. I wish you had a photo of it. You can go to this site to see some photos of different Asparagus Ferns.
