Is something wrong with my jade plant?

I have a jade plant that is only about 5-6 inches tall. It was half the size when I bought it, about 6 months ago. The plant has been doing well all of this time, but today I saw that one of the leaves had rotted. My plant had two leaves at the base of the stem coming out of the soil (I'm not sure if this is typical) and one of those was partially black/brown and flopped over. When I touched it, it fell. The rest of the plant looks normal, but should I be worried? What might be the cause?

a jade plant is essentially a cactus too much water will rot it, let it dry between watering's, and make sure it has proper drainage.
Reply:yep she's right .more sun less water.
Reply:Be sure to google the plant, but sounds like over watering.Try the google site and be sure....
Reply:if leaves are coming from the soil...it will fall off...so quit ur worryin
Reply:... perhaps too much loving care (in the form of overwatering)?

That's the most likely cause, I'd say.
